[OSEN=Oh Minhee] KBS 2TV ‘The Pretty Man’ that airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays will end today (9th). ‘The Pretty Man’, which became the center of attention since the first episode with the meeting of Jang Keun Suk and IU, recorded low viewing rate even with a fun and interesting story and a cartoon-like producing, leaving sadness behind. Ma Te, who finally realized his love, even tried to propose to Bo Tong but because Bo Tong was kidnapped by Na Hong Ran, he decided to give up. It was to protect Bo Tong. Even if crying in deep sorrow as he decided to break up with Bo Tong and is having a hard time, he volunteered to be the evil character who give insults that is not what he means at all just for Bo Tong, creating a feeling of pity.

In this process, Jang Keun Suk, who plays the role of Dokgo Ma Te, acted out the man in love with a soft smile, warm looks in the eye and a friendly speech. From the queen of human relationships Kim In Joong (Cha Hyun Jung), he learned how to manage human relationships. In addition, he met Myo Mi (Park Ji Yoon), Gwi Ji (Kim Bora), Yigim (Jeong Sun Kyung) and Yeomim (Jeong Min Joo) and learned the ways to be successful from successful women. From an immature man who only bragged while having faith in his handsome looks, he matured into someone with internal stability.

To such an unfolding of the story, Jang Keun Suk showed various styles and transformation through acting, presenting a work that gives joy to both the eyes and the ears. More photos from Pretty Man, this time from the drama proper as well as its poster shoots. I must say, while the story still seems riddled with question marks, the pictures do look super cute, featuring our lead couple played by Jang Geun-seok and IU. (I don’t understand in what universe she could be considered completely and utterly ordinary-looking, but I suppose it’s fiction for a reason.)
And this is a shallow point, but I know I am not the only one rejoicing at the new haircut for Jang Geun-seok. Huzzah for sharpness and sleekness and change! I don’t actually dislike the long wavy shampoo-commercial tresses on him—it’s just that he’s had the same look for so long that I missed how it was back in the day when he was rocking a new style for every project. (Or week to week, as in the case of You’re Beautiful where he went through hairstyle concepts on a regular basis.)

The scene on the bus pictured directly below actually comes from a flashback segment (which explains the hairdo change), when middle schooler Kim Bo-tong (IU) first sees the high schooler oppa and is smitten with adolescent puppy love, kicking off a one-sided crush to span the next decade. Oh, honey. I feel for you, even though I know you’ll get your man at the end of 16 episodes. Hopefully sooner, to make up for all that lost time pining. But first, she’ll have to compete with all the top-tier successful ladies he’ll be romancing before he sees the light and falls for her back. Fingers crossed that the process makes sense and all that. With the director of Flower Boy Next Door and Flower Boy Ramyun Shop onboard, I’m hoping for fun, zippy things to come.
Pretty Man will air on KBS following Secret and premieres on November 20.

On 18th, Korean media reported that Jang Keun Suk stars drama “Beautiful Man”.

The drama “Beautiful Man” is based on a popular comic by Chun Kye Young. The story describes the process about Dokgo Ma-Te who’s trying to achieve money and successful career with his good looks finally finds real love.

His agent, Tree-J company said, “After finishing drama ‘Love Rain’ last year, we received a lot of offers, but it takes time to consider which his next drama should be carefully. When reading the outline of ‘Beautiful Man’, we were sure that’s it. The lead character has a enchanting charm that can drive a lot of women crazy, which every actor wants to act. And we expect he can show various faces as an actor.”

Jang Geun Suk : Love Rain’ to be Exported to Over 12 Countries and Regions Globally !

It seems like everyone wants a piece of Jang Geun Suk and Yoona (SNSD) on KBS’ Love Rain.

It was revealed the broadcasting rights to Jang Geun Suk and Yoona’s Love Rain has been sold to twelve different countries and regions including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Cambodia, the Americas and Europe. Love Rain previously made headlines in Japan after the broadcasting right for the drama was sold even before the drama began airing in Korea.

Even among the Korean contents available at the content market, MIPTV, which took plast in April in France’s Cannes, Love Rain was the most sought after Korean content.

Regarding its popularity, the drama’s production said, “Following the new that the [broadcasting rights] have been sold in Asia, the Americas and Europe, the actors and the staff are feeling a greater sense of responsibility and working even harder. Please continue to give us your support.”
